Kicking off in 2025, PRIDE IN THE PARK was Newington’s first-ever Pride Month event in its 150+ year history. With hundreds of visitors from across the region, dozens of vendors, food truck offerings, and activities, and resources from countless partner organizations, we hope you’ll join us again this year for another empowering celebration of community!

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Set sail for a good cause on Tuesday, June 16th, with a special One Piece Pride tournament. Compete in a full Swiss event, test your skills against fellow pirates, and help support a Pride Month charity, as all event proceeds will be donated.

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Come in on Mondays and Fridays for casual board gaming,

Monday nights are for general board gaming of all types, while typically, Fridays are when people play heavier games.

There is no entry fee, but we ask anyone who uses our play space to follow our Promise of Purchase policy, which entails patrons spending at least $5 while in-store; this can be as store credit for later purchases.

Support a great cause and enjoy an evening of entertainment, creativity, and community on Sunday, June 14th, as we partner with Newington Pride for a special Charity Drag Show fundraiser.

Hosted by Ms. Clementine KuLayd, this year's show features an incredible lineup of performers while raising funds for a local organization that supports and celebrates our community.

In addition to the performances, attendees can take part in a Fantasy Diorama Decorating Contest, presented in partnership with REVIVE of Middletown, who will be on hand throughout the event with crafting inspiration and community support.

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Spend Sunday, June 14th, celebrating Magic Presents: Pride with a special Commander rules twist: every Commander gains Partner for the event. Team up iconic pairs like Ral and Tomik, experiment with unusual color combinations, or finally build the two-Commander deck idea you’ve been sitting on for years. 

Games will run throughout the day, making it easy to jump into a pod whenever you’re free. Whether you’re bringing a tuned deck or something built just for the occasion, this event is all about creative games and celebrating the community around Magic.

⚾ 🐐 We are partnering with the Hartford Yard Goats again this year for a fundraiser! We are selling tickets to their Pride Night game on Wednesday, June 10th. A portion of each sale supports Newington Pride, and everyone who buys a ticket from us gets an incredible perk: before the game we can all go on the field for a photo!!! Limited tickets available 🎟️

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Join us on Monday, June 8th, at 6:30 PM for a special Pokémon Pride Tournament! This event will feature full Swiss rounds in a fun and welcoming competitive environment, with all proceeds being donated to a Pride Month charity.

This event will replace our regularly scheduled Monday Tournament.

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Join us on the first Sunday of the month as we partner with Q Plus to host a FREE monthly Tabletop Gaming Queer Young Adult Space! Board games, tabletop RPGs, card games, and more will be available for you to enjoy! This event is for young adults aged 18-24, and all identities are welcome.

Q Plus, a youth-led, volunteer-run group, started in 2019 to address gaps in queer youth programming across Connecticut. After gaining 501(c)(3) status in 2022, they've expanded to offer weekly youth groups, open mics, summer camps, and school support services.

Join us for a 2-hour Queer Empowerment Workshop created for the LGBTQIA+ community—a space to land, connect, and be fully yourself.

We’ll begin with a short meditation to help you arrive, then move into grounding self-care practices, gentle movement, and sensory-based experiences designed to support both body and mind.

Through a blend of breathwork, mindfulness, yoga postures, and Ayurvedic-inspired practices, this workshop invites you to cultivate inner safety, presence, and joy, while reconnecting to your senses in a meaningful way.

Led by Ash, this inclusive experience offers practical tools you can return to again and again

Ash Baker is a queer, neurodivergent, registered yoga teacher offering group classes, workshops, and private yoga sessions in the New Haven area. Through breath and movement, their teaching emphasizes empowering students to cultivate embodiment and inner safety. Drawing on her own journeys of recovery and gender identity, Ash honors individuals where they are and holds space for their unique needs. Ash completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sanapurna Yoga & Ayurveda Centre in Zurich, Switzerland, and an additional 300-hour Yoga Teaching Training at Breathing Room Community, Yoga, and Wellness Center in New Haven, Connecticut.

Hosted by Tabletop Gaming Center: Celebrate Pride Month with a special Star Wars: Unlimited event on Monday, June 1st! This event replaces our weekly Premier night and features 3 rounds of Swiss with a unique twist—there is no aspect penalty, so build boldly and play your full rainbow. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Newington Pride.

Join us this Thursday, July 31 at 6 PM for a Letter Writing Workshop at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library Community Room, as we join together to stand up for trans rights and speak out against the harmful rollback of gender-affirming care services at CCMC and YNHH.

We’ll hear directly from those impacted and write letters encouraging these institutions to be brave, continue standing with our community and their patients, and restore this vital care. 🏳️‍⚧️
